Kia Motors UK is a dynamic company growing its market share rapidly. With this growth comes an accelerated pace of change for the business and its people. By working with Beyond the Barriers the company’s aim was to help improve staff health and wellbeing, focusing specifically on energy management.
Solution
Together we devised a programme of events to raise awareness of the challenges and to improve team education and knowledge, as well being both inspiring and practical.
- We developed a ‘kick-off event’ to raise awareness amongst all employees and demonstrate Kia’s commitment to supporting staff health and wellbeing. Anna Hemmings delivered an inspirational and highly engaging launch event.
- ‘Know Your Numbers’ health screening programme – A report highlighting the current state of health and wellbeing within the company was presented.
- 2 x Kia Energy Days – A series of high impact practical workshops on energy management. Drop-in sessions with specialists including a fitness expert, nutritionist and masseur were made available to employees.
- Kia Energy Challenge – An inspirational pedometer challenge named The Road to Seoul was launched to encourage staff to be more physically active (Seoul is Kia Motors’ global HQ). Collectively teams would walk 5515 miles (from Surrey to Seoul). This provided a fun and competitive motivator to increase physical activity, fitness and energy levels. It was overwhelmingly popular with staff.
